Project: El Tarro de Ideas
Date Completed: 10/2017
Project Description:
At the time of contacting us, the client had two websites with different domains. One was a WordPress blog and another was an online store in Magento. The circumstance occurred that also for strategic reasons the client wanted to reduce considerably the quantity of products for sale in the online store.
For this reason, we have created an online store in WooCommerce on the existing website with WordPress, which has the highest traffic. For this we have adapted the existing template to support WooCommerce and we have installed and configured it together with different means of payment, and reporting systems made to measure by TargetIMC.
Finally we have exported from Magento the products chosen by the client and we have imported them into WooCommerce. Once all this procedure has been done, we have created the 301 redirects in .htaccess of all the categories and products of the store in Magento to forward the clients to the new website.
In the cases of existing products in both the redirect is direct to the new product. The same happens with the categories. In cases of products that no longer exist on the web in WooCommerce and existed in Magento, we redirected them to the category to which they belonged, if this is in the new WooCommerce website. In the last case, when there is no product or category in the new website, it is forwarded to the root of the store.
Several errors have also been corrected and improvements have been made to the existing template in the original WordPress website.
